Family Fun Nights (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Two Family Fun nights are on the schedule with dates to be determined - one in the fall, and one in the spring. So work would start at the beginning of the school year and continue through early spring. Overview: Coordinate two different fun evening activities and dinner for our D.J. Montague families to enjoy together. Country Fair (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Event is held in the Spring time. Planning begins at the beginning of school and will be ongoing until April. Overview: Organize the Annual Spring School Carnival along with teams of volunteers, vendors and school administration. Spirit Coordinator (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the school year. Overview: Coordinate with local business to provide fun Spirit Nights for our D.J. Montague Families. Merchandise (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the school year. Overview: Working with PTA Executive committee and vendors to ensure inventory is replenished in a timely fashion and communication with families to verify they receive the merchandise they purchased. School Beautification (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the school year. Overview: Coordinate and assist with maintenance of the school and parking lot entrances. Hospitality Committee (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the year. Overview: Coordinate events/special attention for teachers and administration. Yearbook (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the school year. Yearbook is released at the end of the school year. Overview: Coordinate all aspects of creating the Yearbook including the organization of the school photos in the fall and spring, getting photos taken throughout the year and setting up the online sales with the vendors. Media - Website/Facebook Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the school year. Overview: Post updates to the website and Facebook as needed. Newsletter Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the school year. Overview: Coordinate items to be included in the newsletter. Publish and distribute to all D.J. Montague families, staff and teachers. Reflections (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Runs from the end of prior school year through October/November of current school year. Overview: Work with the Virginia PTA and the Art Teacher to coordinate and enter student projects into the Reflections competition sponsored by the Virginia PTA. Book Fair (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Scheduled for Spring, so work would begin in the fall and continue until the Book Fair is completed. Overview: Coordinate the school Book Fair with vendors and school administration. Obtain and coordinate volunteers to work at the Book Fair. Walk-a-thon (2 Co-Chairs) Timeframe: Event is held in the fall. Work would begin about a month or two prior and continue through the completion of the event. Overview: Coordinate with local businesses to get prizes for student participants. Work with School Administration to create and distribute details. Rebate Programs Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the year. Overview: Includes coordinating with the grocery stores and vendors regarding the box tops and receipts. Health and Wellness Coordinator Timeframe: Ongoing throughout the year. Overview: Works with the school Health and Wellness Coordinator to ensure that the school is offering activities and snacks, etc., that promote a healthy lifestyle for all children. |
